The Proposal

The proposal:

  • In 2019, TfL proposed a cycle superhighway (CS10) through Notting Hill and Holland Park Avenue.
  • Local residents firmly said ‘no’, given the local issues it created.
  • TfL are now proposing a cycleway on Shepherd’s Bush Green, Holland Park Roundabout and into Holland Park Avenue (view detailed slides here):

Our concerns

  • Whilst we applaud TfL’s aim to encourage walking, cycling and public transport, and make London greener and healthier, we don’t believe that the new proposal will achieve these aims.
  • If approved, we believe TfL will use this scheme to reignite controversial plans to extend the cycle way up Holland Park Avenue and Notting Hill Gate.

Who will win and lose?

Everyone will lose

Bus users (primarily parents with children, the elderly, disabled and vulnerable) who will have increased journey times.

Delivery vehicles, construction traffic, local motorists and emergency vehicles stuck in increased tailbacks.

Local businesses whose trade will suffer, risking the closure of some local shops.

Local residents who will have more vehicles using their residential streets.
